Science Club(SC)

Motto: “Science is the Eye”

Little Flower school envisages the integral growth of every student. It takes keen interest to keep the students continually motivated in all spheres of their pursuit of knowledge, especially, in the field of Science and Technology. Only studious and a curious mind can look beyond the realities to discover its new possibilities and opportunities. The word ‘Science’ which derived from the Latin word ‘Scientia’, means ‘Knowledge’ opens a wide horizon of knowledge to the hungry minds of our students. The Science club tries to give an adequate opening to quench the thirst of our students in the field of Science.

Description of the Emblem:

The Science Club comprises of likeminded students having scientific taste, as its members who unite themselves to go deeper into the diverse types of realities and try to reveal their scientific potentialities. This club tries to unify main scientific streams such as Biology, Chemistry and Physics to keep its members aware of their unique importance. All the Science Streams are interconnected and intertwined and therefore inseparable. The emblem of the Club vividly depicts the inseparable nature of Science Streams. In the words of Martin Heidegger, “As we go deeper and deeper into a reality, the reality reveals itself to the minds wider and wider.” So, the meaning of the emblem is cleared in the following points.

The Ocean and the Sky:

They symbolize that knowledge does not have any boundaries. It also symbolizes the other earth sciences like geography, oceanography, etc. to urge its members to imbibe particles of knowledge from a wide variety of resources.

Dolphins:
Life is a vibrant reality. It should be respected, nourished and celebrated. The dolphins depicted in the emblem symbolizes the different life sciences to help the students realize their identity as the first among the equal living beings and as social animals. Therefore, this club helps the students to respect the realities of life.

Magnet & Bulb:

These materials of physics indicate the physical sciences in it’s pure sense. But it spiritually denotes the attachment of the members with each other without losing one’s own identity striving to be light to illumine the minds of the young.

Nuclear Structure of an Atom:

The basic building block of every material reality is atom. The scientists of this modern era are very keen to explore the coding of the atomic structure of every reality to place an ultimate cause behind it. The members of the club will be urged to have a thirst to know that SUPREME CAUSE in a virtuously scientific manner.

The School Emblem:

School emblem denotes that this club is unique for the school and it has no separate entity other than the school as it is an indispensable part of the co-curricular activities of the school.

The Cross:

The Cross placed in the emblem has many significant meanings

Cross being placed with other science equipment shows that the club is devoted to blossom the relationship between science and religion.

The cross portrays the Catholic Christian Minority nature of the institution that it is run by the Christian missionaries and it is a certified minority institution.

Cross signifies victory through suffering and dedication and it is the real attitude of the club members that they are ever ready to face struggles to be victorious in their science researches.

Aim:

The School aims to mould the youngsters into ‘Little Scientists’ so that we may have more Einsteins and Kalams. The aim of the club can be encapsulated in the following points:

The students of the club will be motivated to create a scientific attitude and a sense of observation for themselves.

The students of the club will be helped to have curiosity generated in a creative and critical mind to analyze, experiment and to verify the facts and realities.

The students of the club will be enabled to dream high in the field of science and technology.

Objectives:

To generate a scientific attitude towards life.

To teach and give practice for different observation techniques.

To make self-reliant to answer their own queries, specifically, in the field of science and technology.

To practice the basic methods and aspects of research methodology.

To set a platform for the young minds to think high scientifically and promote invention potency of the pupils.

To promote ingenuity among students for the critical appraisal of science developments for the promotion of pro-life movements.

STRATEGYY

Science club provides a podium for its members to think differently and in collaboration as a group of like-minded people. This club is constituted by the free choice of students of scientific aptitude along with science teachers for science expedition and practice. Students are encouraged to perform science experiments on daily basis especially during assembly. Members are encouraged to think collaboratively through science seminars and exhibitions.

Activities

Daily presentation of scientific experiments during assembly by the members of the club from every class which leads the assembly.

Conduct science exhibitions twice a year.

Health awareness classes on body metabolism to members once a year.

Field trips to factories, industries, power plants, model agricultural parks, laboratories & hospitals, etc.

Creation of different models of aeronautic equipment, agricultural techniques & technologies, aerospace engineering equipment, etc.
